Trotz der zunehmenden Pr\u00e4valenz und der steigenden Kosten der Krankheit sind die genetischen und umweltbedingten Faktoren, die manche Menschen anf\u00e4lliger f\u00fcr diese Krankheit machen, noch immer nicht gut verstanden.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Als die Forscher die Exome von 6000 Alzheimer-Patienten mit denen von 5000 kognitiv gesunden \u00e4lteren Erwachsenen verglichen, konnten sie Variationen in Genen finden, von denen sie glauben, dass sie zur Entwicklung von Alzheimer beitragen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Die neu entdeckten Gene k\u00f6nnten auf eine Entz\u00fcndungsreaktion und Ver\u00e4nderungen in der Proteinproduktion hinweisen. Beide Ver\u00e4nderungen tragen vermutlich zur Neurodegeneration bei, die bei Alzheimer auftritt.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cDiese umfangreiche und tiefgreifende Gensequenzierungsstudie ist ein wichtiger Teil der Identifizierung von Variationen, die f\u00fcr das Risiko, an Alzheimer zu erkranken oder sich davor zu sch\u00fctzen, eine Rolle spielen k\u00f6nnen\u201d, sagte Dr. Eliezer Masliah, Direktor der Abteilung f\u00fcr Neurowissenschaften am National Institute on Aging, einem Teil des NIH.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cBig-Data-Ma\u00dfnahmen wie das ADSP bringen die Forschung wirklich voran.
